how to install trigger shifters bike bicycle?
hi i have a specialized hard rock mountain bike 21 speed with GRIP SHIFT and i want to put trigger shifters on instead i find them way better. can anyone help me out on how to do this?
To start to do this you will need the new trigger shifters and a set of new grips.
The following details are going to be basic so I have added two sites to help with the tuning of the new shifters.
1) loosen and free the old shifter cables at the derailleurs.
2) Loosen the old shifters and remove them along with the old inner cables.
3) Install the new shifters and grips.
4) If the old cable housings are in poor shape get new ones, if they are in good shape, insert the new inner cable, and pull out all the slack.
5) Use these two sites to help with the final setup.

Edit: The new shifters will have the inner cable installed from the factory, do not remove them. Also if you do not have a cable housing cutter take your old outer housings to a bike shop have have them properly cut new ones.
